I received this as a Christmas gift, and I am glad I did. Albert Martin is a great speaker, and after reading this, I see that he is also a great writer. Romans 3, when speaking about the unregenerate, says there is no fear of God before their eyes. This is just as true now as it was then. He goes even deeper by talking about the lack of fear in the lives of God’s people. The author quotes Murray, who sums it up succinctly – “The fear of God is the soul of godliness.” There is a flippancy today towards a reverential fear of God, and it shows in the state of the church. We must do better. As the author stated, we are to be precise in our walk because the God we worship is precise.
There are seven chapters, covering the biblical basis for Godly Fear, the definition of the Fear of God, the ingredients of the Fear of God, the Source of Fear, the Relationship, and how to Maintain and Increase the Fear of God.
